                            The Disappearing 9 Patch

- Cut 9 five inch squares 

 - 5 dark and 4 light 

- Place dark blocks in corners and center

   and light squares in between the dark squares

-Sew squares together

-Remember press seams as you go

-Cut sewn block in half from top and bottom

- About 2 1/4 inches is the center of the center squares

- Pressing seams as you go 

-Leave 2 opposite corner blocks in the position they are in...

- Turning the other 2 opposite corners so that the small

   squares you cut in the center

   face out on the 2 squares you turned ( as shown in photo below ) 

-Pressing seams as you go

-As shown in photo below fold top half over the bottom half

 and sew where the center line is ( where scissors are pointing )

- Pressing the seams as you go

-After sewing both sides as shown in picture  ,press then

   sew both sewn sides together to make the complete block
